Glee
Hairography

Hairography: The art of distracting the audience from the music and dancing by swinging your hair around. Think “cool epilepsy,” says New Directions’ hairography expert, Brittany (who also said last week that a ballad was a kind of duck).

And so the theme of this episode, distraction, was introduced and then beat over our head. Again and again. All right — we get it, already!

Steve Perry Talks Glee

Journey

You know the song. It’s everywhere. “Don’t Stop Believin’” has new life thanks to the cast of Glee.

But what does Steve Perry, lead singer of Journey (they put out the song in 1981), think of the song? Popeater.com asked him.

“I would give it an A,” Perry tells PopEater exclusively. “I think they did a good job.” He then added, laughing along the way, that “A+ is reserved for the original. That’s a little shameless promotion, forgive me.”

To read everything Steve Perry has to say, read the popeater.com interview.

For all you Tina fans out there, your time has come!

In this week’s upcoming episode, Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) finally gets her turn in the spotlight, singing “True Colors.” I listened already and I can’t believe that voice. It’s amazing.

If you want to listen, and see what other songs will be in the episode, check out E! Online’s article about it.

A Gracious Jane Lynch

Lynch

CNN Entertainment reporter Andrea Mineo recently sat down for an interview with Glee’s Jane Lynch. She didn’t have much time as Jane was getting ready to go on stage for the off-Broadway show, “Ephron’s Love Loss And What I Wore,” currently on a run in NY.

All was going well. They were down to the end when the camerman let Andrea know he hadn’t been rolling.

As Andrea began freaking out as to what to do, Jane remained calm and answered her questions.

“And the interview began again. And Jane Lynch was as gracious as anyone could be considering the double click. And yes, I forgave my cameraman because after all, it’s not the end of the world. And these things sometimes happen in television.”

Glee
Ballad

Rachel crushing on Mr. Shu? Nope. Don’t see it. But other than that, this episode had some of the wittiest lines of the entire season.

The action starts when Will announces that sectionals just added a new rule that each school has to perform a ballad (which Brittany thinks is, “a male duck”). OK, it’s not realistic rule change, but it is a great opportunity for some fun music. He has everyone pair off by drawing a name from a hat. Mercedes and Puck. Oops — Finn and Kurt. Tina and “the other Asian” (my favorite line so far so wink, wink…nudge, nudge). They need to get that kid a name.

Whee, Glee! New instant-classic Glee music is available online, including a version of “Lean on Me” (we’re already preparing to cry during this TV performance), a fabulous pop “Crush,” and “I’ll Stand by You,” which we have to guess (just guess) is Cory Monteith’s Finn serenading Dianna Agron’s Quinn about her pregnancy and such. Loverly!
